Reporter inquiries found that the drainage ditch on the side of the village road is about 0.4 meters deep and 0.3 meters wide, with limited drainage capacity. Lin Zuoxiang, deputy mayor of Qingkou Town, indicated that the fifth phase of flood control project on the South Bank of Nangang in the lower reaches of Minjiang River was about to start. The project will clear and widen the silt of Taojiang River, its tributaries, Qingtan River and Qingpu River, build protective embankments and bank protection, and strengthen flood control standards. As for the actions of villagers to build houses and annex rivers, some of them will unite with the land and water resources supervision of Minhou County to strengthen the supervision decrees. Changle is low-lying and flooded in the dry season.
Chen Xiong, principal of Changle Yutian Middle School, said that the tables and chairs, sports equipment and multimedia education equipment on the first floor of the school were soaked in water, and the workload of cleaning up the silt was immeasurable. The old education building was soaked by floods and there were potential safety hazards. The education department decided to suspend Yutian Middle School temporarily. More than 200 teachers and students went to Heshang Town. Changle No. 4 Middle School, beside the government, has classes. Chen Xiong said that Yutian middle school education building and administrative building were both old buildings built in 1987. Because of their low-lying location and close to the Dongjiang River, the schools were simply flooded in a flood. At that time, the possibility of annexation was greater.
There were no students in Daxi Primary School and Kindergarten, which had been besieged by the floods. A person in charge of Heshang Town said that after being soaked by the floods, school buildings could be in danger of safety. At that time, some schools were being checked and determined. As it is close to the summer vacation time of primary and kindergarten, both Daxi Primary and kindergarten were on vacation yesterday.
Yutian Town will be flooded every dry season. One is low-lying and simple water accumulation, the other is that the drainage system is not smooth. Many people in Changle Yutian reported that when houses were built in villages, drainage canals were often blocked, resulting in poor drainage systems.
